Direct support professional (DSP) (All Shifts Available)

Responsibilites

  • Assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, community integration, and overall well-being, under the supervision of a house manager; key aspects may include implementing individualized personal centered plans, maintaining a clean and safe living environment
  • Accompanying residents to appointments, outings, and social activities.
  • Following individualized person centered plans for each individual, including personal goals and support needs.
  • Maintaining accurate records of individuals activities, behavior, and any incidents.
  • Collaborating with other staff members, family members, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
  • Develop meaningful relationships and connections with clients to make them feel cared for and included in the community
  • Follow all health and safety protocol

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 18 years or older
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license and comply with agency policy for driving agency vehicle
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Ability to pass background checks and required training

Salary – $16.00 – $19.00 per hour with an additional $1.00 per hour starting midnight Friday to Midnight Sunday.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services field or related field

Payroll and HR Coordinator

The Payroll/Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible for carrying out agency payroll, human resources and benefit operations in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable state and federal laws. Responsible for duties not limited to employee relations, benefits, compensation, leave of absence, workers compensation, recruiting, prescreening, hiring, onboarding, new hire orientation, terminations, and participation in unemployment claims. Monitoring completion of On the Job Training (OJT) packets, new employee orientation, assisting with performance evaluations, scheduling, preparing job assignments, completing reviews, disciplinary actions, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school Diploma required.
  • Current knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and payroll application systems.
  • Strong understanding of payroll accounting and payroll best practices.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material.
  • Must have strong detail orientation and high accuracy level.

REGISTERED NURSE (RN)

Responsibilites

  • Ensures all Direct Support Professionals (DSP) are trained in Health and Safety component of the DSP Core Training program, medication administration and medication specific to each individual and maintains appropriate records of all training.
  • Ensure, on at least an annual basis, that assessments are completed for each individuals physical and mental status and medical history.
  • Ensure, on at least an annual basis, evaluation of the individuals medication order and medication(s) prescribed.
  • Re-evaluate DSPs on at least an annual basis to ensure competency of the authorized DSP to administer medication.
  • Maintain clear documentation of training, retraining, and evaluation and submit appropriate records for each staff members file.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate storage and disposal of medications, medication error reporting and quality assurance.
  • Ensure all PRN medications are administered per Rule 116 and appropriately included in each individuals Medical Administration Record (MAR).
  • Ensure compliance with Medication Self-Administration.
  • Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of client.
  • Assumes responsibilities of being on call for staff inquiries via phone call only.
  • Communicates and trains staff, as needed, to ensure individuals and guardians understand medical conditions and/or procedures.
  • Participates in organizational meetings, as appropriate.
  • Adheres to organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Education and/or Experience

  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse
  • Prefer one (1) year experience working with adults who have intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Computer Skills: Knowledge of Internet and e-mail
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Maintain Illinois state Registered Nurse license
    • The RN must possess a current, valid Illinois nursing license
    • Must take and successfully pass the IDHS approved RN Trainer training.
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and writing skills.
    • Must successfully pass all required background checks.
    • Must possess/demonstrate excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at once.

House Manager

Responsibilites

  • Ensure that agency is appropriately maintained
  • Respond to all emergencies, as required.
  • Develop, plan and monitor community inclusion activities and opportunities
  • Ensure there are medication authorized staff scheduled for every shift as needed and provide back up if needed for medication administration.
  • supervise employees for adherence to planned schedules, programs and documented activities, continually monitor employee work hours and manage overtime.
  • Evaluate employee performance, enforce agency policies and procedures and recommend changes in employee status.
  • Provide on-site supervision
  • Ensure that all employees complete mandatory OJT training within 120 days of hire and assure timely re-certification (i.e., CPR, first-aid, and medication administration).
  • Maintain and operate agency within budgetary guidelines including groceries, gasoline, link card usage and other purchases.
  • Continuously monitor health and safety practices to include emergency drills and medication training
  • Ensure infection control are followed by, individuals, staff and visitors.
  • Ensure there are medication authorized staff scheduled for every shift as needed and provide back up if needed for medication administration.

Schedule:

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • 2-3 years of experience working with individual Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
  • Must have supervisory experience
  • Must have DSP training
  • Pass the TABE test and maintain authorization to pass medications
